Edward A. Aguilar, J.D., Pennsylvania DirectorEd Aguilar is a lawyer, graduate of Temple University, Beasley School of Law, where he wrote his thesis on the Law of the Sea. He worked from 1978 on civil rights and prison reform as a lawyer and then as Pennsylvania Court Special Master. His activism for peace goes back to the Vietnam War, and the struggle for civil rights. He was also an Adjunct Professor of Law, teaching international law at St. Josephs University.

Ed was president, Lawyers Alliance for World Security (LAWS) Pennsylvania (1986-2006), led in D.C. by former U.S. Disarmament Ambassador, Tom Graham, Jr. In that capacity he worked to assist in writing the first drafts of the Nuclear Weapons Convention, now known as the Nuclear Ban Treaty. I2012, Ed was appointed Pennsylvania Director of the Coalition for Peace Action (CFPA), his current position.
 
After nuclear arms, CFPA calls global warming the second existential crisis for humanity, and seeks its end by US and global action. Ed is active in lobbying Congress for peace, climate action, and racial and economic justice, and most recently to help end the illegal invasion and war in Ukraine.

In 2015, Ed co-founded the No Wars, No Warming campaign at CFPA, which he chairs. Ed is married to Conna Clark, a talented fine arts expert, and they have two great grown children, Cris and Julia. Ed is a Board member, United Nations Association of Greater Philadelphia, and Resolution Media Fund, based in the Poconos, which produced Groundswell Rising, feature film on ending fracking.

Jennifer New began on June 16, 2022 as our 25 hour per week Executive Assistant. She was previously self-employed for over 25 years, and is excited to be using her skill set in support of our mission.

Jenn is in the CFPA headquarters in Princeton most weekdays from 10:00 AM until 3:30 PM. In addition, she helps host Zoom meetings and events on some evenings and weekends.
